Kinda hard to justify, but for the price you can buy 2 and part out one to keep the other going. The last two sold in Denver only went for 7500 bucks apiece. We need a wheel loader, and for what mid sized loaders are going for, I am eyeing a 945 Fiat Allis. He does his own repairs though, and is good at sourcing parts, so he doesnt face issues that some do when owning a large piece of equipment. for a song and had it trucked in for less than 10K for the total project. : ) He got a 855 Cummins powered Michigan paddle wheel scraper on ritchie bros. most farmers in our area will go to a consignment sale and spend 7500-10,000 dollars on a dinky little scraper to pull behind a tractor. I think the only issue is can you afford repairs?Ī buddy of ours needed to move some dirt. Posted 00:41 (#5851054 - in reply to #5851049) Subject: RE: Regrets buying a large dozer? We are farmers and not dirt contractors, so are a little new to this territory. Hauling won't be too much of an issue locally. After that, a 6 would probably be handier. It would also be the best for making some rock for later. For this repair, the D8 would really be the preferred machine. The 7s are somewhere on the lower side of the price range. I seem to see that the D6 Cats are about the same money as a D8. I have always wanted, but not really needed, a dozer for around the farm. We have had some major flood damage and are leaning towards buying a dozer to do the repairs ourselves. Posted 00:24 (#5851049) Subject: Regrets buying a large dozer? Regrets buying a large dozer?
